FAQ's
You might be wondering:
Please ask your funeral director. They can take a fingerprint using ink and paper. If you've already received an impression card from them, simply take a clear photo of it and upload it when placing your order.
You can also make contact with us and we can help you arrange to get some ink prints.
Yes. If you're ordering on behalf of a friend or family member, just upload the fingerprint and leave a note with any special instructions. We can also send the finished piece directly to them, beautifully packaged.
We work with ink impressions provided by your funeral director or any clear fingerprint image you may already have. A scanned file is ideal, but a well-lit photo of the print can also work perfectly.
We also work with putty impressions if you have one of these - you can send it to us.
You can upload the fingerprint to us when you order your jewellery, you’ll see a file upload section on the product page. Click to upload a clear, well-lit image of the fingerprint provided by your funeral director.
Please reach out if you need help or have questions.
That’s completely fine. If you’ve received a fingerprint file or card, make sure to keep it somewhere safe. You’re welcome to make contact with us when the time feels right.
You can upload JPG, PNG, SVG, DXF or PDF files. If you’re unsure whether your image is clear enough, send through what you have — we’ll review it before engraving.
We recommend that the print fits within a 5cm x 5cm area. If the image is larger, we’ll crop or scale it to fit the jewellery while keeping the detail intact. We can work with you on your preferences for this.
In general the engraving surfaces for impressions on our jewellery ranges from 8mm to 18mm in diameter depending on what you are after.
That’s okay. Upload the clearest version you have, and we’ll review it before engraving. If there are any issues, we’ll get in touch before we begin crafting your piece.
The engraving will be as clear and defined as the ink print is. We will do our best to enhance the lines where possible without changing the print itself. In instances where we deem it necessary, we will use only a partial section of the print.
If you are not sure about the quality of your ink impressions you are welcome to email a close up, high resolution photo of them to hello@coveted.nz before placing the order and we can advise whether they will be suitable.
Yes, but not always on the inside of our rings. You can include a name, date, or initial on the product page.
You can even upload a sample of their handwriting (e.g. 'Love Mum') which we can digitise and engrave for you.
If you have multiple fingerprints and need help deciding which to use, feel free to upload a few files and note your preference in the order notes, or reach out and we can help guide you.
Ink impressions can be captured from people of all ages, however please note that we require visible lines to engrave the pieces. Fingerprint lines will get clearer/deeper as your children get older and lines become less defined as you get older.
Please email us images of your ink prints prior to placing your order if you are unsure.
A high-resolution photo of the ink fingerprint taken in good lighting, with the print in focus and centred in the frame, works best. We recommend using your phone’s camera with no flash.

Still is for what stays.
We create jewellery for the kind of love that lingers. Their touch, engraved in time. A quiet way to keep them close.
